Typical Tasks and activities

Visit customer premises to install, configure or troubleshoot hardware / software, such as Routers, switches, firewalls, access points, CCTV systems, PBX systems and SIP lines.
Responding to customer incidents as directed by the technical service desk, to provide on-site response and support for enterprise customer issues
Be on-call for major level incidents that require on-site support, responding to incidents within set customer SLAs
Visit customer premises to undertake routine testing and maintenance, as directed by our service desk
Perform install, move and change projects if required by our project teams
Perform asset management audits / delivery for assets under our management on customer premises.
Installing and changing customer LAN infrastructure / Cat 5 / 6 / 7
Document technical specifications and reports
Assist the sales teams in gathering customer’s technology requirements to allow them to quote customers for works performing pre-sales support as required.
Required Skills

Knowledge of the configuration, setup and management of IT systems & network devices, including routers, switches and Wi-Fi devices.
Proven experience of working with IT & networking equipment (TCP/IP, MS Servers & workstations, Voice & UC technologies, backup technologies etc.)
Familiarity with SBC, Ribbon?/metaswitch, Cisco, Avaya, Fortinet an advantage.
At least 3-years prior experience working for an Internet/Data Centre or Telecomunications service provider, managed services provider or large corporation supporting IT systems.
A demonstrable passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Demonstrable problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability and drive to create and maintain up-to-date documentation.
Ability to follow complex instructions for unfamiliar tasks.
A positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
Ability to work effectively under pressure whilst maintaining good prioritisation, high standards and risk mitigation.
You will be expected to communicate with corporate clients via telephone, tickets, email and face-to-face and should therefore possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Enthusiastic and highly motivated.
Ability to work alone, under own initiative considering the safety of themselves and others at all times.
Ability to dynamically assess and reduce/mitigate risk to service and safety.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
