Descripción: As part of the Operations division of Earth Observation Missions, this position combines knowledge of several disciplines with the ability to think outside the box. Our Ground Segment Engineers work on complex systems and applications including hardware and software solutions that support and communicate with our satellites.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Take charge of the Ground Segment Operations of the Deimos-II earth observation satellite
Control and supervision of all the Ground Segment activities
Analysis and improvement of the Ground Segment applications
Maintain relevant reporting of all activities carried out at the ground station
Ensure validation of relevant ground segment elements and final ´delivery´ to mission
Define and coordinate execution of related test and validation programs, mission readiness, station performance and tracking campaigns
Support preparation and execution of mission-critical phases
Participate in project reviews, anomaly and configuration control boards, and development process of relevant ground systems
Support the Head of Satellite Operations in all activities, processes and projects related to multi-mission ground facilities infrastructure and services
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required:
Telecommunications or Computer Engineer degree
At least 3 years of experience working in a multidisciplinary team
Technical requirements:
At least 2 years of experience working with JAVA (J2EE) and Python development
Deployment and maintenance of WEB Apache Tomcat server environments
Experience in SQL DDBB: Postgres and MySQL
Linux. Ubuntu and CentOS distributions
Scripting shell Linux. Automating task
Use of Version Control tools
Use of support and incidences management tools (JIRA, Redmine)
English advanced level (B2)
Desired:
Experience of more than 3 year in the sector
Experience in design, development, integration, verification, operations of Ground Stations and associated processes
Experience with ESA and ESA standards as well as industry standards
Experience of working in a satellite ground segment
Experience with using cloud-based systems (AWS)
