Our client is the world?s leading producer of Extra Virgin Organic Oil, selling in over 30 countries worldwide. The organic fair trade programme currently includes 1,200 farmers in Tanzania, expanding to 2,000. We are looking for:
PROCESS ENGINEER MANAGER
TANZANIA
We are seeking an Operations Manager to focus on the Tanzanian production.
An enthusiastic, practical person required. The applicant must have a good understanding of English, and be enthusiastic about training local staff, for some of whom English is a second language.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
? Practical factory management experience.
? Engineering experience an advantage.
? Must be self-reliant, practical and hands-on with equipment/processing.
? An ability to work without supervision and make decisions under pressure.
? An understanding of health and safety requirements, ISO 2000 and Organic, Fair Trade production.
? Strong computer skills and record keeping.
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
? Budgeting and cashflow experience.
? Willing to be flexible and help out in any role within our small team.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
? To manage and train production and factory staff to think independently and problem-solve.
? To ensure oil production meets quality requirements and manage production planning (processing and shipping).
? To ensure that all orders are packed and shipped on time from Factory.
? To ensure that the company?s plant and facilities are properly maintained.
? To be able to run oil production shifts where required.
? To manage the H&S, FSP, FSSC and Organic programmes in conjunction with all relevant staff and ensure all product and technical queries are answered including testing register.
? To ensure that stocks required for exports are ordered and arrive on time.
? Responsible for facility expenditure and engineering budget.
? New projects as required, such as Macadamia Nut Oil processing plant and Tanzania processing plant.
? Understanding the biogas plant system and its management.
