Descripción: Our client, an important FMCG company, is looking for a Data Tech Lead for their offices located in the center of Barcelona (Plaza Cataluña), they have set up a Technological Hub to manage global digital projects from our city. As a Data Tech Lead , you will interact with data engineers, data scientists, software developers, and business experts to understand how data needs to be converted, loaded, processed and presented for company analytics products.
You will contribute in platform and solution architecture and data modeling for analytics products. We are looking for 2 Data Managers (Ingestion and Data Lake). Each of them will manage a team of 4-6 Data Engineers. You will belong to the chapter of Data Engineering (Product and Platform). The three people we are looking for and their teams generate a single product (Data Platform). If you are the Data Ingestion Manager we need you to have experience in real-time analytics (Streaming), in the architecture of this layer, in data streams…you will be the streaming reference. If you are the Data Lake Manager we need you to be powerful in Spark and Databricks.
Core activities:
– Collecting Data (Batch + Real Time Streaming)
– Data Backend Development (ETLs, APIs and Data Preparation)
– Algorithms Development (Data Mining and Machine Learning)
– BI Development (SQL, ETLs, Datawarehouse)
Development:
– Language (required): Python, Scala, SQL
– Languages (appreciated): .NET, Java
– Big Data Frameworks: Spark, Hive, Kafka, Kubernetes
– Data Base: relational (SQL Server) & non-relational (MongoDB, ELK, HBase, CosmosDB¡)
– Experience in Agile methodology
– As a bonus, knowledge of Machine Learning (Scikit-Learn, R, Spark ML…)
Soft skills and competencies:
– Passion for learning new tools, languages and frameworks
– Ability to be creative and innovation-minded, self-motivated and proactive.
– Fast adaptation to changing requirements and strong problem-solving skills.
– To work in a collaborative model, side by side with the business
– Fluency in English to work in a multi-cultural environment
Experience:
– MS´s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
– 5+ years´ experience in software development
– 5+ years´ experience in Big Data Frameworks
– 3+ years´ experience in Team Management
– As a bonus, contribution to open source projects
