What you can expect

Our unit “Workspace Application Management” is globally responsible for the provision and central management of applications in the areas Workplace, Virtual Solution and Mobile. Besides request and data analysis, software evaluation and packaging, distribution and patch management, this also requires a strong collaboration with Business experts, providers and project teams. Your main responsibilities:

– Work closely together with internal Business Partner and other teams to provide centrally managed applications for workplace and/or mobile devices
– Consult and support application owners during complete lifecycle of an application: from initial request, application evaluation, packaging and test phase until availability in / decommissioning from the BASF portfolio
– Ensure data quality and business continuity
– Use tools and telemetry data to identify pro-actively potential installation and security issues and derivate adequate measures
– Provide solutions and concepts in a fast changing and complex environment
– Support and analyze in case of application or compatibility issues and get in contact with vendors, technical contacts and user groups
– Support merger and acquisition projects and the integration of needed applications into the BASF portfolio
– Develop existing processes, tools and systems further having regard to new technologies and automation potential

Our main requirements:

– A Bachelor or Master degree in relevant Business/IT studies with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role and interest in new technologies
– Team player with a growth mindset and the curiosity to learn and improve
– High ambition and customer service orientation
– Well-founded knowledge in the different windows operating systems and troubleshooting
– Analytic skills and interest in process design, concept creation and continuous improvement
– Fluent communication skills in English (spoken and written)

– Experienced with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and/or Microsoft Intune

Nice to have:

– Knowledge in application packaging and scripting, you can deal with MSI and XML technology as well as with PowerShell scripts.
– Developing skills (e.g. C#)
– Experience in the Citrix server environment or patch management in general
– Knowhow in ServiceNow or Azure Active Directory
– Additional skills in ITIL, Lean Six Sigma or agile working methods
– Experience in provider steering and user support
– Business Consulting and Technical Consulting skills
– Experience in working in a global team in a large company
– Education, such as Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), Certified Network Engineer (CNE) or similar
