We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Network Engineer to join our client´s European IT team.
The candidate will have extensive experience in as many environments as possible from below:
– Experience in managing LAN and WAN networks
– Expertise with Windows, Linux, and AS400 operating systems
– Proficiency in cloud solutions, specifically Azure, and expertise in managing Checkpoint and FortiGate firewalls are essential
Network Management:
– Design, implement, and maintain LAN and WAN networks.
– Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
– Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring high levels of performance, security, and availability.
System Administration:
– Manage and support Windows, Linux, and AS400 operating systems.
– Perform system upgrades, installations, and configurations.
– Implement and manage virtualized environments.
– MS Office365 tenant administration, including Teams, Exchange, SharePoint, global tenant settings, etc.
– VmWare virtual environment administration.
– Backup supervision (Veritas BackupExec and Veeam)
Cloud Management:
– Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud services.
– Ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud solutions with on-premises infrastructure.
Security Management:
– Configure, manage, and maintain Checkpoint and Fortigate firewalls.
– Implement and monitor security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
– Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
– Leadership and Management
– Demonstrate strong management capabilities, leading teams effectively to achieve operational goals.
– Provide mentorship and training to junior staff and ensure adherence to best practices and company policies.
Help Desk Coordination:
– Oversee the help desk services, ensuring timely and effective support to end-users.
– Develop and implement help desk policies and procedures.
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
– Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior System Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, Network Engineer or a similar role.
– In-depth knowledge of LAN, WAN, and network management.
– Expertise in Windows, Linux, and AS400 operating systems.
– Proven experience with Azure cloud services and data center management.
– Strong knowledge of Checkpoint and Fortigate firewall management.
– Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
– Strong communication and organizational skills.
– English and Spanish at a professional level; French would be a plus.
