Position summary:
As a backend technology expert you will work on all aspects from software delivery to performance, security and reliability.
This position will more specifically focus on the eCommerce dimension, but you will be required to learn and experience other domains such as CRM and Marketing Data, Payment systems, IoT and Retail systems.
You will have the unique chance to work for a major eCommerce actor, with the size and geographical footprint allowing for great challenges.
We position ourselves as a tech product organization, and through your experience, knowledge, insights and willingness to learn you will contribute to this model. We run and operate our products, in an internal SaaS model.
You are hands on, curious about the business AND technical side of the position, and are able to see and understand the business of IT.

Key responsibilities:
– On a day by day basis, you will work colocated with a small group of people and remotely with a very large development organisation.
– We have a predominantly Java-based backend landscape, moving gradually to a front/back decoupling and transforming our Commerce engines into headless commerce systems.
– You have a passion for performance and security.
– You will reinforce the team, leveraging on your experience and knowledge as a developer/an architect/a performance engineer.
– Our platforms handle some significant load and business complexity, while being operated centrally as global products.
– You will be able to identify and execute technical or functional improvements allowing for a better resilience and performance of our platforms.
– You know that software is never done” and know the importance of focusing on reliability.
– You will of course have to put up with some fires; the business never stops, and our incident response sometimes require the utmost expertise: yours.
– You will embrace the current technical stack, learn it and master it. You will also be able to challenge it and propose disruptive changes.
– You have here the opportunity to be on the driving seat of a major revenue-generating stack.
What will make you successful?
– A passion for technology and software development, and the ability to bridge technical and non-technical populations in a large organisation.
– An experience in large development teams & organisations, with multiple delivery and organisation models.
– Bachelor´s degree in computer science, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience.
– 7+ years of experience in the relevant area of expertise.
– Ideal experience of 5+ as a developer, SRE, performance engineering or architecture a strong plus.
– Previous experience in code inspection, review and code quality check.
– Experience with effective communication at different levels in the organization and in English.
– Experience working in a global environment and with virtual teams.
